Denis
R. Murdock boasts 55 years of Entrepreneurial Small
Business Start-up, Business Development and General
Business Management experience, with 43 years of concurrent
experience in Career-Outplacement and Business Consulting,
Executive Business Coaching and Mentoring. His General
Management experience includes a strong background in
Sales, Marketing and Operations, with a good working
knowledge of Finance and Accounting.
His
entrepreneurial business and consulting background is
complemented by 20 years in the US Army Reserve, beginning
in 1966 during his senior year in high school. After
completing Officer Candidate School (OCS) at Fort Benning,
Georgia in 1971, he received his commission as an infantry
Second Lieutenant, then culminating his Army career
with the rank of Major. In 1980, he accepted a two-year
active-duty assignment as a General Staff Officer to
(LOGistics EXercise) LOGEX 80 and LOGEX 81, a prominent
Army Command Post Exercise at Fort Lee and Fort Pickett,
Virginia. He received a commendation award and special
recognition from the Fort Lee and Logistics Headquarters
Commanding General.
The
Murdock Group, a full-service career-outplacement and
business consulting firm, was founded by Mr. Murdock
in 1983 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In 1986 he opened
an office in Richmond, and in 1987, a Washington, D.C.
office was added. In 1989, Mr. Murdock relocated to
Salt Lake City, Utah, and in 1996, he sold controlling
interest in the firm to facilitate further expansion.
Soon thereafter, it began trading publicly on NASDAQ,
with offices in Salt Lake City, Utah, Seattle, Washington,
and Portland, Oregon. He resumed controlling interest
in the firm in late 2004.
From
1983 to 1996, The Murdock Group served more than fifteen
thousand clients nationwide: from Virginia to California,
and New York to Florida. Most clients were either former
military, or mid to upper management executives and
professionals seeking career change or advancement.
Many clients also wanted to leave the mainstream job
market in pursuit of entrepreneurial new business start-ups.
Prior
to founding The Murdock Group, Mr. Murdock was appointed
manager of the Virginia Beach office of Robert Jameson
Associates, and introduced the career consulting concept
into Virginia. Preceding his appointment, he was a consultant
in the regional Washington, D.C. office. Robert Jameson
Associates, at the time it closed its offices, was one
of the largest career-outplacement consulting firms
in the U.S.
Preceding
his affiliation with Robert Jameson Associates, Mr.
Murdock was the founder of a marketing firm headquartered
in Salt Lake City, Utah. Mountainwest Security Systems
was a regional wholesale and retail distributor of wireless
digital security systems products for Dynamics, Inc.
of Charlottesville, Virginia. Additionally, as Rocky
Mountain Regional Business Development Director, he
established a dealer network for Dynamics.
While
in his early twenties and working his way through college,
he began his business career as owner of an automotive
repair business and used car dealership. Flipping Porsches
paid his way through college, along with a couple of
scholarships.
Mr.
Murdock is a published authority in the fields of career
planning, job changing, sales, marketing, communications,

A
BYU alumnus majoring in Humanities, he has conducted
numerous training programs and seminars, been interviewed
frequently by the print media, and appeared on a variety
of radio and television programs. He has been inducted
into Who's Who Worldwide, Who's Who in America, Who's
Who in the West, Who's Who in Sales and Marketing, National
Directory of Who's Who and Two Thousand Notable American
Men.
During
the period 2000-2005, Mr. Murdock consulted and managed
billing for medical clinics in Salt Lake City, Utah,
and from 2006 to 2015 consulted and managed medical
clinics and dental practices in Las Vegas, Nevada. In
2015 he formally retired from medical management and
consulting, discovering a new passion in Cryptocurrency.
From 2015 until 2019, he traveled around the world twice
as a Cryptocurrency advocate and VIP guest speaker promoting
Cryptocurrency trade shows in Southeast Asia and Australia.
Mr.
Murdock’s current activities include: (1) Leading
weekly hiking and kayaking groups in Nevada, California,
Utah and Arizona; (2) Publishing an eNewsletter as an
independent news aggregator sharing selected syndicated
news items ignored by the legacy media, presenting a
broader picture of what's going on behind the curtain;
(3) Mentoring clients with Service Corps of Retired
Executives (SCORE). SCORE is a non-profit organization
that provides free business mentoring, education, and
resources to entrepreneurs and small business owners.
SCORE is a partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration
(SBA) and has been helping small businesses launch,
grow, and succeed since 1964.
Denis
Murdock is the father of six children, twenty-two grandchildren,
two great-grandchildren, and currently resides in Las
Vegas, Nevada since 2006.
